Under the Patronage of H.E. the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Alsawaha,  and in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) hosts the “Connecting the World from the Skies” Forum tomorrow with the participation of more than 100 countries. The forum aims to discuss the most recent advancements in airborne and space-borne networks and the associated challenges and opportunities from scientific, technical, and regulatory perspectives. The forum will be in Riyadh from 8 – 10 November 2022. 

With the participation of more than 60 speakers, the forum will cover 6 key themes via more than 15 panel discussions and tutorials which are space, terrestrial and future integrated connectivity, road to 6G through the skies, the cutting edge opportunities and challenges in providing connectivity through non-terrestrial networks ​and the digital dived, open and regulated skies, and orbital debris and space sustainability. The forum will be of interest to representatives from both the public and private sectors, and in particular radiocommunication and space industry innovators, researchers, ICT, and technology stakeholders, as well as spectrum policymakers from national regulators and other relevant international bodies. The forum will showcase te​chnical solutions and modern trials from their technical and scientific aspects.

The forum will announce the winners of the Global Research Competition launched by CST in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), in the non-terrestrial networks field through the future networks beyond the 5G and 6G Initiative. More than 100 researchers with 28 research papers from more than 30 universities and research centers participated in the competition, and the top three scientific papers will be awarded tomorrow.
