CST​ strategic plan for the years 2019–2023 ​

Driven by the Kingdom’s developmental plans and Saudi Vision 2030, and in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the communications and information technology (ICT) sector’s strategy, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), in preparation of its strategy for the years (2019-2023), has focused on a number of strategic themes, objectives and directions to advance the sectors regulated by it.​

Alignment with United Nations’ SDGs

In pursuit of its Strategic Directions, and as a 5th generation digital regulator, CST has been establishing innovative measures and approaches and adopting qualitative initiatives to achieve sustainability in the communications, space and technology sectors, making sustainability at the heart of these efforts to bring forth a better future for the Kingdom. This emphasizes the importance of sustainability in various environmental,societal and economical aspects for improving the quality of life and ensuring the optimal use of resources bridging the digital divide,supporting investment,

research and innovation in emerging technologies, and increasing reliance on renewable energy sources in the ICT sector. To guide the communications, space and technology sector in its sustainability journey and to fulfill its Strategic Directions, CST has developed, in cooperation with MCIT, a (C.I.R.C.L.E) roadmap outlining key priorities to achieve the Kingdom’s sustainability aspiration for the communications and information technology sector.​
