The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced that the transitional period for Saudi domain names has been extended, for the private sector and individuals, for an additional three months ending on March 31, 2022.
CITC indicated that the transition procedures have been automated as shown via the following link.

The Commission pointed out that the extension decision does not include government domains, which will be transferred to the Digital Government Authority in accordance to its processes and procedures. CITC assured that the transition process does not affect the domain work or services, and stressed that the information of the domain administrative coordinators must be updated to complete the transition process in order for registered users to transfer the Saudi domains ending with (.sa) or (.السعودية) to one of the licensed registrars, which provide Saudi domain registration services.

It is noteworthy that CITC seeks to develop Saudi domain services, in line with international best practices, by enabling the private sector to invest in this field and its related services.
