H.E. Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Board of Directors, and H.E. Eng. Haytham AlOhali, the Acting Governor of CST, congratulate the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the direct follow-up of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the success of Hajj Season 2025 on all levels.
H.E. Alswaha announced that the success of CST operational plan for Hajj season is due to the unlimited support of the leadership and the collaborative efforts exerted by the relevant entities in public and private sectors.
H.E. also highlighted that the Kingdom’s advanced digital infrastructure played a vital role in serving the pilgrims of the Holy Mosque, enhancing their experience, and ensuring their health, safety, and security.
He noted the integration of innovative technologies that accompany pilgrims, including artificial intelligence solutions used in managing crowds.
These modern tools and AI capabilities empowered government entities to deliver services with exceptional reliability.
Alswaha commended the efforts of the industry’s staff in both government entities and telecom service providers that served pilgrims and facilitated their Hajj journey.
Additionally, the Acting Governor of CST emphasized the Commission’s commitment – as the ICT regulator in Saudi Arabia – to leveraging all its capabilities to facilitate high-quality communication and IT services.
This has been achieved through a robust digital infrastructure and collaborative efforts with telecom service providers to serve pilgrims, in addition to enabling both the public and private sectors to deliver their services using the latest technological innovations.
H.E. also commended the extensive efforts dedicated to facilitating all services at the Holy Mosque during the Hajj season, reflecting the support and empowerment the sector receives from the wise leadership.
H.E. Al-Ohali highlighted the success of utilizing AI in crowd management during this year’s Hajj, in partnership with Aramco Digital and in collaboration with the Supreme Authority for Industrial Security, the Saudi Water Authority, and Saudi Railways.
He added that telecom network performance indicators reached impressive levels, with over 181.2M local and international calls during the Hajj season in Makkah and the Holy Sites, as well as mobile internet speeds reaching 297 Mbps, representing a 32% increase over last year’s Hajj season.
The average daily data consumption per user reached 1259MB, exceeding the global average of 2.9 GB per user per day.
These achievements are the result of advanced infrastructure and the integrated efforts of all parties involved in serving pilgrims.
