Yes, the examination fee is 300 Saudi Riyals for the first attempt. In case of a retake, the fee is reduced to 100 Saudi Riyals.
The examination is conducted to assess applicants’ knowledge and understanding of the technical and operational regulations governing amateur radio, as established by Communications, Space and Technology Commission )CST(.
There are two examination categories based on the classification of Amateur Radio licenses, as follows:
Class (1) License: The license permits the amateur to transmit and receive on all frequency bands specified in Table (19-1) of the Amateur Radio Service Regulations.
Class (2) License: The license permits the amateur to receive on all frequency bands authorized for the Amateur Radio Service and to transmit on limited frequency bands, as specified in Table (19-1) of the Amateur Radio Service Regulations.
