The launch of the Global Connectivity & Sustainability Events, Next Monday in Riyadh

Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Abdullah Amer AlSwaha, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Chairman of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Board, the “Global Space Connectivity & Sustainability Events” launches next Monday under the theme “Connected Earth, Sustainable Space”, organized by CST at its headquarters in Riyadh, in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), over three days. The event brings together the Connecting the World from the Skies Forum (NTN) and the Space Sustainability Forum (SSF), in their third editions, under one umbrella, reflecting a shared international commitment to advancing innovation in non-terrestrial networks and space sustainability.

The event aims to discuss international directions for the future of satellite connectivity and strengthen the integration of Terrestrial and Non-Terrestrial Networks, review the regulatory and technical developments in Non-Terrestrial Networks and their applications in expanding connectivity and bridging the global digital divide, alongside shedding light on space sustainability and the responsible use of space resources, through the exchange of expertise and international best practices.

CST stated that the event will discuss key main sessions, including Integrated Connectivity for the 6G Era, Paving the Way to WRC-27, and Opening Horizons for Direct-to-Device (D2D) Satellite Connectivity, alongside Space Economies & Emerging Markets and Space as Critical Infrastructure. The event will also discuss Space-Enabled Sustainability on Earth, Global Governance and Responsible Behavior in Space, in addition to Managing Congestion, Mitigating Interference and Preventing Debris.

The event will also feature the results of leading technical trials and connectivity solutions via Non-Terrestrial Networks, and the announcement of the winners of the Non-Terrestrial Networks International Research Competition (NTN 2026), launched by CST in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

CST invites those interested to register and find out more information about the event via the website: scs26.sa
