CST Concludes its Participation in LEAP26

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) concluded its participation in the 5th edition of LEAP26, held from August 31 to September 3 2026. During the event, CST announced investments exceeding 550M SAR in the ICT infrastructure, enabled the launch of the Kingdom’s first fully carbon-neutral 5G-Advanced telecommunications tower site, and launched 4 national initiatives in partnership with Ithra to advance digital sustainability, in addition to joint collaboration tracks with the Environment Fund to promote environmental sustainability.
 
Seeking to develop the communications sector and maximize the utilization of companies’ existing infrastructure, CST grants the Carrier Service Provider License to the National Water Company (NWC), and a Landing Stations and International Cable Services Permit to the Technical Links Services (TLS). The licenses are expected to generate more than 500K SAR in investments in the communications sector, while fostering an enabling environment for emerging technologies and attracting leading global technology players to Saudi Arabia.
 
During LEAP26, CST also recognized 23 partners of the “IoT Adoption” Initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Digital Government Authority (DGA), for their significant contributions and active role in encouraging sectors to expand the adoption of IoT solutions. CST also honored 11 partners of the “Recycle Your Device” initiative, celebrating the recycling of more than 400,000 devices, in partnership with MCIT and the
National Center for Waste Management (MWAN). In addition, CST, in collaboration with Tuwaiq Academy, recognized communications and technology companies participating in the BugBounty initiative.

CST also launched the “Cloud Computing Maturity Index” as part of its efforts to advance the Kingdom’s cloud computing market and enhance its competitiveness, while fostering innovation and improving service quality. CST also recognized the service providers that achieved the highest ratings under the Index.
 
CST leaders and officials also delivered presentations and participated many sessions covering key topics, including space innovation and the future of the space sector, building smart digital ecosystems, AI adoption and infrastructure readiness, as well as the structuring of technology markets. These engagements aimed to enrich knowledge among specialists, researchers, and stakeholders across relevant sectors, strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors, and explore future
opportunities and shared aspirations.
 
CST’s participation in LEAP26 reflects its leading role across the communications, space, and technology sectors, as well as its ongoing efforts to develop these sectors in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious goals and contribute to realizing its future aspirations.
