Aimed at Enhancing the Adoption of Cloud Computing Services: Communications Commission Holds Workshop on “Cloud Computing Solutions for Government Entities”

The Communications and Information Technology Commission, in cooperation with the Digital Government Commission, held a workshop titled “Cloud Computing Solutions for Government Entities,” with the aim of enhancing the adoption of cloud computing services and enabling service providers registered with the Communications Commission, in addition to opening broad horizons for developing and advancing the sector and supporting national targets in accelerating digital transformation and the adoption of emerging technologies by government entities.

With the participation of a number of government entities from across the Kingdom and cloud computing service providers registered with the Communications Commission, the role of the information technology and emerging technologies sector was introduced, along with its efforts to support and enable the cloud computing market and increase the adoption of its services in the Kingdom.

The workshop also reviewed the solutions of Category (C) cloud computing service providers registered with the Communications Commission, and highlighted their capabilities to contribute to raising awareness of the services they provide, meeting the government sector's requirements with high security and reliability that support Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives.

The workshop addressed topics of cloud computing and its infrastructure, which is important in the digital transformation and digital economy journey, through success stories in this field, in addition to the mechanism for benefiting from the framework agreement via the Etimad platform, which was previously announced at the beginning of 2022 by the Expenditure and Project Efficiency Commission in cooperation with the Digital Government Commission.

It is noted that this workshop is part of a series of workshops through which the Communications Commission seeks to achieve strategic targets in the sector, by increasing the growth of the cloud computing market, enabling its service providers, and enhancing competitiveness in this important and promising market.
