To Enhance Competition and Publish Data Transparently, the Communications Commission Ranks Telecommunications Service Providers by Their Attention to Users in Q1 2019

The Communications and Information Technology Commission issued, today, the index ranking telecommunications service providers based on complaints escalated to the Commission in the first quarter of 2019, with the aim of publishing data transparently and clearly, which would enhance competition among telecommunications service companies, and drive them to develop and improve their services in line with users' expectations.

The Commission explained, through the index, that the total complaints escalated to the Commission recorded a decrease of approximately (8%) compared to the first quarter of 2018.

According to the index issued by the Commission, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) ranked among the companies with the most complaints in the mobile telecommunications services category per hundred thousand subscriptions, while Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) ranked first among companies in terms of the number of complaints in fixed telecommunications services per hundred thousand subscriptions.

It should be noted that the Communications and Information Technology Commission receives complaints escalated to it through an integrated complaint-handling system, and periodically issues ranking indices, to ensure the provision of the most accurate data to users on the performance of telecommunications service providers in resolving their customers' complaints, and to contribute to enabling users to choose the appropriate service provider in light of these indices.
