To Enable Benefiting from the Latest Telecommunications and Information Technology Technologies, the Communications and Information Technology Commission Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Red Sea Development Company

The Communications and Information Technology Commission signed, today, a memorandum of cooperation with Red Sea Development Company, to establish frameworks for joint cooperation between the two parties in the field of telecommunications and information technology, and enable benefiting from the latest telecommunications and information technology technologies in Red Sea Development Company's projects; in line with the Commission's regulatory role for the telecommunications and information technology sector, and aligning all of the company's projects with the Commission's regulations in a manner that achieves the objectives of both the Commission and the company, in fulfillment of Saudi Vision 2030.

His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, said: This memorandum will open horizons for a strategic partnership to enable benefiting from the latest telecommunications and information technology services in the company's projects, affirming the Commission's role in encouraging and supporting innovation and emerging technologies through developing the telecommunications and information technology sector in the Kingdom and supporting and enabling new digital technologies across all sectors in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

For his part, Mr. Pagano said: “We are honored to sign this memorandum, which represents the first step towards a partnership aimed at enhancing cooperation between Red Sea Development Company and the Communications and Information Technology Commission. This partnership will support our efforts to benefit from the latest telecommunications and information technology technologies at our destination.”

It should be noted that the “Communications and Information Technology Commission” is a key enabler of Saudi Vision 2030, having charted its new strategy in alignment with the Vision's targets, in pursuit of ensuring the telecommunications and information technology sector keeps pace with the developmental renaissance the Kingdom is experiencing, while Red Sea Development Company leads the development of “The Red Sea Project,” a luxury tourist destination that will set new standards for sustainable development and place the Kingdom in a prominent position on the world tourism map.
