Miqyas Report Reveals Service Providers' Speeds in Accessing Leading Social Media, Gaming and Application Platforms in the Kingdom

The Communications and Information Technology Commission issued the quarterly report on internet speed and digital content access speed indicators in the Kingdom, “Miqyas,” which revealed, in its third-quarter edition of this year, that Mobily recorded the best access speed for social media application content: (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat), while Saudi Telecom Company (STC) recorded the best access speed for (WhatsApp).

Mobily also topped the list of access speeds for the most widely used video conferencing applications in the Kingdom, after recording the best access speed for (Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams), while Saudi Telecom Company (STC) recorded the best access speed for (Google Meet).

Regarding access to the most widely used electronic games in the Kingdom, Zain recorded the best access time for (Fortnite, Apex Legends, Dota 2), while Mobily recorded the best access time for (FIFA 20, League of Legends).

It should be noted that the Communications and Information Technology Commission, through the quarterly publication of the “Miqyas” report, seeks to enhance competitiveness among operators to provide the best services to users, by raising the level of market transparency through the publication of data results and indicators, and enabling investors and interested parties to access market performance indicators in the Kingdom.
