Kingdom Wins WSIS 2023 Award
The Kingdom won the World Summit on the Information Society “WSIS 2023” award after competing against innovative projects from more than 109 countries in the WSIS competition organized by the International Telecommunication Union, held in Geneva, Switzerland, in recognition of the excellence of its innovative projects.
The Kingdom achieved the award for the early warning system development project submitted by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, where the electronic system analyzes the map of the Kingdom through vital indicators on the geospatial portal.
The Kingdom's achievement of the award comes after intense competition with global projects, and its attainment reflects the standing of the telecommunications sector internationally and the level of development witnessed by the sector's infrastructure as a result of the continuous support it enjoys from the wise leadership, aimed at accelerating digital transformation projects and activating technology across various sectors, including government services, healthcare, education, and entertainment.
