Kingdom, Represented by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Participates in Meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York

The Kingdom, represented by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, participated in the coordination work of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), held at UN Headquarters in New York in early February.

The Director General of International Affairs at the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Eng. Mansour Al-Qurashi, who serves as Chairman of the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), reviewed the Kingdom's role and highlighted its efforts and contributions within the framework of cooperation with the international community by enhancing the digital infrastructure of developing countries and harnessing its resources to develop the telecommunications and technology sector.

With the participation of the chairs of the specialized committees affiliated with the Economic and Social Council and a number of senior officials from governments, the private sector, civil society, academic institutions, and international and regional organizations, the meeting's work addressed charting future directions and ensuring coordination and planning among committee chairs in order to achieve the United Nations' goals related to harnessing telecommunications and information technology and its developments for development purposes.
