Kingdom to Participate in ITU Telecom World Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates Next October

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by a number of government and private entities, is participating in ITU Telecom World, organized by the International Telecommunication Union and held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, during the period from 14 to 18 October 2012. The exhibition includes a pavilion for a number of entities concerned with the telecommunications and information technology sector in the Kingdom, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Communications and Information Technology Commission, which oversees the pavilion, in addition to the participation of the Saudi Telecom Group, Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily), Zain Saudi Arabia, and Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication Company.

Mr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of Public Relations and Media at the Communications and Information Technology Commission and General Supervisor of the pavilion, stated that the Kingdom's participation in this global event comes after the success achieved by the Kingdom in its participation in this exhibition in 2009 in Geneva, and also comes as an extension of the work undertaken by the participating entities to highlight the progress achieved by the telecommunications sector in the Kingdom in all regulatory fields and telecommunications and information technology infrastructure.

It should be noted that ITU Telecom World, held annually, is one of the most prominent specialized forums in information and communication technology in the world, bringing together stakeholders from around the world to communicate and cooperate in shaping the future of this sector.
