Kingdom Participates in the 50th Regular Session Meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Council of Ministers of Communications and Information

The Kingdom participated in the 50th regular session meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Council of Ministers of Communications and Information, represented by the Director General of International Affairs at the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Eng. Mansour Al-Qurashi, chaired by the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, hosted and chaired by the Arab Republic of Egypt under the umbrella of the League of Arab States, with the participation of Ambassador Dr. Khaled Wali, Director of the Communications and Information Technology Department at the League of Arab States, and the attendance of representatives of the member states of the Executive Bureau, which includes the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Tunisia, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Republic of Yemen, and Palestine, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Smart Village.

The meeting, in which the Kingdom serves as Vice Chair, discussed a number of topics, most notably the selection of the Arab Digital Capital for 2023, an initiative aimed at supporting Arab youth through telecommunications and information technology, and enriching creative work, innovative thinking and entrepreneurship. The meeting also discussed the activity of bodies holding observer status in the work of the Arab Council of Ministers of Communications and Information, in addition to highlighting joint Arab cooperation with regional groups, organizations and stakeholder partners in the field of telecommunications and information technology.

The meeting also addressed follow-up on the implementation of joint Arab work to develop the telecommunications sector and discussed Arab preparations for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference and Arab candidacies for membership of the Council, the Radio Regulations Board, as well as administrative leadership positions, in addition to discussing the outcomes of both the Arab Permanent Committee for Communications and Information and the Arab Permanent Postal Committee.
