Kingdom Participates in the 27th Meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Postal and Telecommunications Ministries of the GCC States

The 27th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Postal and Telecommunications Ministries of the Gulf Cooperation Council States concluded yesterday in Riyadh. The meeting began on 16/8/1437H, corresponding to 23/5/2016, with the Kingdom participating with a delegation from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Communications and Information Technology Commission, headed by the Deputy Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission for Competition and Legal Affairs, Dr. Dhaifallah bin Ahmed Al-Zahrani.

The meeting discussed the reports submitted by the committees and associated working groups affiliated with the General Secretariat of the GCC, namely (the Telecommunications Legislation and Regulation Committee, the Technical Committee of the Telecommunications Bureau, the Roaming Working Group, and the Working Group on Legislation and Regulation of Internet-based Service Applications), in preparation for submitting their recommendations to the Ministerial Committee of the GCC Ministers of Communications and Information Technology.

In addition to discussing a number of topics related to the development of the postal and telecommunications sectors in the GCC States and ways to enhance joint cooperation between them in these vital sectors.
