Kingdom Hands Over Chairmanship of the Arab Network of Telecommunications Regulators to Sudan at the Seventh Regular Meeting Held in Khartoum

The sisterly Republic of Sudan, represented by the National Telecommunications Commission, hosted on Wednesday, 11 Rajab 1431H, the seventh annual regular meeting of the Arab Network of Telecommunications and Information Technology Regulators for this year, during which the chairmanship of the network was transferred to the Republic of Sudan from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which had chaired the network during the past year.

During the meeting, attended by representatives of 13 Arab countries with observers from the International Telecommunication Union, the chairmanship was handed over from His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Jaafari, to His Excellency Dr. Ezzeldin Kamel Amin, Director General of the National Telecommunications Commission in the sisterly Republic of Sudan. A number of new projects were presented during the meeting, including the technology neutrality project, the consumer protection project, and the Arabic content project, and a vote was held on some projects that will be managed by the National Telecommunications Commission in the Republic of Sudan following the transfer of the chairmanship to it.

His Excellency the Commission Governor, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Jaafari, delivered a speech on this occasion in which he thanked all the Arab regulatory commissions for the cooperation he observed from them during the Communications and Information Technology Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's chairmanship of the network. His Excellency also highlighted the projects approved by the sixth annual meeting, which the previous chairmanship of the network followed up on, whether through participation, or through coordination and follow-up with the leading commissions responsible for them, reviewing in this regard the most important achievements made during the sixth session.
