The Kingdom Assumes a Number of Leadership Positions at the World Radiocommunication Assembly

The Kingdom obtained a number of leadership positions during its participation in the proceedings of the World Radiocommunication Assembly 2019, held from October 28 to November 22, at the Sharm El-Sheikh International Convention Center in the Arab Republic of Egypt. This year's session is witnessing notable attendance from radiocommunication entities from more than 90 countries.

During the Assembly's sessions, Engineer Mohammed Al-Janoubi was appointed Vice-Chair of Committee 4 concerned with terrestrial mobile services, fixed services, and broadband applications in mobile service; Engineer Majed Al-Qahtani was appointed Vice-Chair of the Radiocommunication Advisory Group; Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Najdi was appointed Vice-Chair of Study Group 4 specialized in systems and networks in the fixed service, mobile service, broadcasting service, and radio determination service; and Engineer Yazeed Al-Shadoukhi was appointed Vice-Chair of Study Group 5 specialized in systems and networks in the fixed service, mobile service, radio determination service, and amateur service.

The World Radiocommunication Assembly is the body responsible for organizing studies in the ITU's Radiocommunication Sector and setting and approving their programs, in addition to a number of other tasks and responsibilities. It is held every four years.
