Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission Hands Over Digital Certification Services Licenses to Arabian Internet and Communications Services Company and Bode Company

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, today handed over licenses for providing digital certification services to Arabian Internet and Communications Services Company and Bode Telecommunications Company, valid for five Hijri years from the date of license issuance, at the headquarters of the Communications and Information Technology Commission in Riyadh, with the handover attended by senior officials from the Commission and the licensed companies.

His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission explained that the Commission's aim in licensing digital certification services is to enhance investment in the digital certification industry, and provide its services in the e-transactions market in the Kingdom through an integrated public key infrastructure management system on which all electronic transactions, such as e-commerce and e-government, are based, and to enable internet users to conduct various electronic operations with privacy, confidentiality, and reliability.

At the same time, Arabian Internet and Communications Services Company and Bode Telecommunications Company expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Communications and Information Technology Commission for its efforts to improve communications and information technology services and increase investment in this important sector.

It is worth noting that the digital certification service is an electronic data system specially designed to operate independently or in conjunction with another electronic data system to create an electronic signature, verify the identity of parties electronically and their consent to the electronic transaction, and detect any modification made to this electronic transaction.
