Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission Extends Congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the Success of This Year's Hajj Season

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, extended, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Commission's staff, sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God preserve them – on the great success achieved for this year's Hajj on all fronts.

His Excellency affirmed the support of the wise leadership – may God preserve it – for providing the best services to the guests of the Most Merciful, through the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, and His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of the Makkah Region and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee.

In a related context, His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, announced the success of the operational plan for the communications and information technology sector for this year's Hajj season 1439H, noting that this year witnessed a significant increase in the use of communications and information technology by the guests of the Most Merciful, and stating that the preparations and plans for this year's Hajj season had been implemented, praise be to God, in an outstanding and successful manner and according to what was planned, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, telecommunications companies, and government and private entities related to this year's Hajj season.

Dr. Al-Ruwais affirmed that this success would not have been achieved without God, and then the support and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God preserve them – and the follow-up and supervision of His Excellency Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Commission's Board of Directors.

The Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission noted that network performance recorded, praise be to God, high levels, with the number of voice calls exceeding (213) million calls at a success rate exceeding (99%) in Makkah from the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah until the eleventh day of Dhu al-Hijjah, noting that data traffic volume reached about (14,000) terabytes, equivalent to (13.5 petabytes), an increase of (21%) compared to last year's Hajj season (1438H), in addition to mobile internet download speed reaching (26.6 Mbps), an improvement of about (128%) compared to last season, as a result of the availability of advanced communications network infrastructure and increased capacity.

His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission concluded his statement by praying to Almighty God to accept the pilgrims' Hajj, and to return them safely to their families and homelands, and to preserve for our country the blessing of security and stability.
