The Communications, Space and Technology Commission wins the Best Project Management Office award during the PMO Summit

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission won the "PMO of the Year" award in the global competition for its excellence in implementing the best recognized practices in the field. The award was presented during the PMO Summit, which annually honors the top Project Management Offices that demonstrate outstanding efficiency in applying best practices, standards, and governance methods adopted by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

The Commission received its first award (PMO of the Year) under the Global Project Excellence Awards track presented by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The Commission succeeded in submitting a winning file that earned it the title of Best Project Management Office for 2022, in its very first participation, surpassing both local and global competitors.

The Commission also received another award at the same event from the PMO Global Alliance, recognizing its participation in the PMO Global Awards competition. After passing the national qualifiers and earning the sole seat to represent the Kingdom, it secured third place in the Asia-Pacific track among both local and global participants.

In this context, Eng. Naif Shashah, Assistant Deputy Governor for Planning and Development, stated that the Communications, Space and Technology Commission’s achievement of these global awards reflects its pioneering role in institutional excellence and operational efficiency. It also highlights its ongoing commitment to developing talent and equipping them with top enabling skills to adapt flexibly to the sector’s rapid changes, through the application of international best practices. This effort aims to position the Kingdom as a leading nation in the Digital Organizational Maturity Index and to achieve the goals of the digital economy.
