Acting Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission Receives His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Al Khalifa

His Excellency Engineer Habib bin Khudhair Al-Shangeeti, Acting Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, received in his office today His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamood Al Khalifa, Director of the Consumer Affairs Department at the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Daifallah bin Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Deputy Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission for Competition and Legal Affairs.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamood Al Khalifa was briefed on the Commission's organizational structure, which was approved during 2011 to keep pace with developments witnessed in the communications and information technology sector, and to ensure the protection of end users of communications and information technology services, regulate the market, encourage competition on the basis of transparency, fairness and non-discrimination, and monitor the markets. He was also briefed, through the central electronic system on the Commission's website in both Arabic and English, which allows subscribers to submit complaints electronically and remotely, and which also allows them and interested parties to view the level of service providers' handling of subscriber complaints submitted through the system. This visit comes within the framework of the ongoing cooperation between the Communications and Information Technology Commission and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
