Acting Governor of the Commission Opens Introductory Workshop on Licensing IoT Virtual Network Operator Services

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, Acting Governor of the Commission, opened the introductory workshop on licensing the provision of Internet of Things Virtual Network Operator (IoT-VNO) services, and the controls and conditions for providing Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services and Internet of Things Virtual Network Operator (IoT-VNO) services, in the presence of representatives of telecommunications companies in the Kingdom and a number of technical experts in the field of the Internet of Things.

Engineer Khalid bin Nasser Al-Saleh, Director of the Licensing Department at the Commission, said that the aim of the license is to develop communications in the Kingdom by finding appropriate solutions for the growing demand on the communications sector, creating new investment and employment opportunities in artificial intelligence, modern technologies and smart home applications, enabling new investors to enter the communications and information technology market, and attracting the latest global technologies. He noted that the Kingdom is the first country in the Middle East and North Africa region to launch a license for providing Virtual Network Operator services for the internet
