Telecommunications Service Providers Begin Disconnecting Service for SIM Cards Not Verified by Fingerprint or Through the (Absher) System
The Communications and Information Technology Commission announces that telecommunications service providers have begun disconnecting service from mobile SIM cards (postpaid, prepaid, data) that have not been verified by fingerprint or through the (Absher) system, effective Thursday, the 1st of Dhu al-Qi'dah 1437H, noting that the subscriber can restore the service by verifying it within (90) days from the date of disconnection.
The Commission thanks all subscribers for taking the initiative to verify their SIM cards, in order to protect their rights and prevent misuse of their personal data. Subscribers can verify the numbers registered in their name through the number designated by each service provider.
(Saudi Telecom Company subscribers: send a text message to number (900) containing the number (9988) – Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) subscribers: send a blank text message to number (616166) – Saudi Mobile Telecommunications Company (Zain) subscribers: send a blank text message to number (700123) – Virgin Mobile subscribers: send a blank text message to number (309985) – Lebara subscribers: send a text message containing the letters (ID) to number (1755).
It is worth noting that the Communications and Information Technology Commission announced on Thursday, 16 Shawwal 1437H, the start of a two-week suspension of the outbound messaging feature for mobile SIM cards that had not been verified by fingerprint or through the (Absher) system.
