Supplementary Press Release Regarding the Fulfilment of Part of the Regulatory Requirements for the Continuation of BlackBerry Messenger Service

Further to the Commission's statement issued on 26 Sha'ban 1431H regarding the 48-hour extension of the suspension of BlackBerry Messenger service until Monday, 28 Sha'ban 1431H.

In view of the positive progress made in fulfilling part of the regulatory requirements by the service providers, the Commission has decided to allow BlackBerry Messenger service to continue to be provided, and to continue working with the service providers to complete the remaining regulatory requirements. Work will continue to be evaluated and reviewed in line with developments in this matter, and the necessary action will be taken accordingly.
