In a Bid to Increase Competitiveness in the IT Sector, "Communications Commission" Holds Joint Workshop with the Saudi Exchange "Tadawul"
The Communications and Information Technology Commission held a virtual workshop in partnership with the Saudi Exchange "Tadawul," aimed at introducing the requirements for listing on the Saudi financial markets and explaining the benefits and advantages of listing on the financial markets, with the participation of a number of service providers and investors in the information technology and emerging technologies sector.
During the workshop, a brief overview of the Saudi financial market was presented, the most prominent trading platforms in the financial market were reviewed, and a number of benefits and advantages that listed companies on the financial market would gain were highlighted, including enhancing the company's continuity, enhancing the company's credibility in the market, providing liquidity for company growth, increasing financing opportunities for projects, as well as protecting companies from negative practices that affect the company's future through governance, in addition to increasing opportunities to obtain more projects, as listing gives preference in business and government procurement (under the Government Tenders and Procurement Law) to companies listed on the financial market, along with other benefits and advantages resulting from listing.
The workshop comes as part of the Commission's efforts to increase the competitiveness of the information technology sector, encourage investment, and stimulate the information technology and emerging technologies markets through a number of tracks, including encouraging information technology companies to list on the Saudi stock market "Tadawul" and showcasing successful experiences of information technology companies currently listed on "Tadawul."
