On the Sidelines of the Plenipotentiary Conference in Romania.. Minister of Communications Meets Counterparts from a Number of Countries to Discuss Digital Economy Growth

His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Swaha, held a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Spain, the United States of America, and Australia, and also met with officials from international organizations, on the sidelines of the International Telecommunication Union's Plenipotentiary Conference held in Romania.

In the presence of His Excellency the Governor of the Communications Commission, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, His Excellency Al-Swaha discussed with the ministers enhancing cooperation and partnership in the field of technology and communications and accelerating the growth of the digital economy, and developing digital skills, and the meetings also touched on topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance areas of technology, research, and innovation in emerging technologies and communications, in addition to harnessing digital technologies for sustainable social and economic development.

It is noted that the Kingdom is participating in the work of the Plenipotentiary Conference, which is held every four years, and is the highest authority in the International Telecommunication Union, through which the Union's general policies are set to achieve its objectives, and the Union's strategic and financial plan for the next four years is approved, and member states decide the organization's future role.
