Names of Consortia Selected to Move to the Next Stage According to the Application Document for Obtaining a License to Provide Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Services
Further to the Commission's announcement issued on 01/07/1434H regarding the names of the consortia that submitted applications for obtaining licenses to provide Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services in the Kingdom, the Commission would like to inform the public and concerned parties that it has studied and evaluated the applications submitted to it, and that the following consortia have been selected:
1- Axiom Mobile Consortium, with host service provider Saudi Mobile Telecommunications Company (Zain).
2- Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia Consortium, with host service provider Saudi Telecom Company.
3- Jawraa Consortium, with host service provider Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily).
To move to the next stage according to the application document for obtaining licenses to provide Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services, and they must complete the requirements specified in the license application document within (90) ninety days from the date the Commission notifies them, in preparation for their move to the next stage to obtain the licenses.
These licenses aim to improve the level of communications and information technology services and their deployment, and contribute to reducing their prices, and caring for subscribers, and increasing job opportunities for citizens, and stimulating competition in communications and information technology service markets, and increasing investment in this important sector, in addition to increasing its contribution to GDP, and it will also provide the subscriber with multiple options for obtaining mobile communications services from competing companies on the basis of fairness and transparency.
