CST Grants Permit for Landing Stations and International Cable Services

The Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) granted a Landing Stations and International Cable Services Permit to the Technical Links Services (TLS), with the company’s anticipated investments reaching 375M SAR (100M $), to develop the telecommunications sector, maximize the utilization of companies’ existing infrastructure, foster an enabling environment for advanced technologies, and attract global technology pioneers.

The license was presented in the presence of Eng. Mazen Alnasser, Director General of Licensing at CST, to the company,represented by its Chief Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Officer Eng. Mohammed Al Dafiri,  and will enable TLS to provide services to its customers in accordance with the defined scope of the permit.

Granting TLS with permit will enable the establishment, operation, and management of international cable landing stations, as well as providing international connectivity and capacity services. This will strengthen the company’s role in providing telecom infrastructure services, support digital transformation, and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional and global hub for telecommunications, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI). These capabilities will also contribute to the growth of the digital economy and support the realization of Saudi Vision 2030 goals. 

The license is one of the services provided by CST to develop the domestic market and advance the national telecommunications sector. It also aims to strengthen telecom infrastructure, supporting sector growth, boosting competitiveness, as well as expanding the business scope and provided services.
