On WSIS Sidelines.. Saudi Arabia Showcases its Journey in AI Ecosystem

Saudi Arabia showcased its journey in building a comprehensive national AI ecosystem that combines responsible governance with deployment of AI applications across multiple sectors. The session highlighted the contributions of national entities in advancing Saudi Arabia AI ecosystem by supporting governance and ethical frameworks, developing advanced computing infrastructure, fostering research and innovation, as well as enabling national capabilities. These efforts reinforce Saudi Arabia's position as a global model for developing responsible and accessible artificial intelligence. 

The Saudi delegation also highlighted the Kingdom's journey in leveraging AI across vital sectors, including government services, healthcare, and media, emphasizing the importance of building an integrated AI ecosystem that balances technological advancement with trust, transparency, inclusivity, and align with local values and cultures.

The session featured a high-level discussion on the key lessons learned from Saudi Arabia's approach to scaling AI responsibly, as well as opportunities to strengthen international collaboration in governance, investment, and infrastructure innovation, in a way countries and institutions can benefit from successful models for building sustainable national AI ecosystems.

The session was organized by Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) , with the participation of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), and Prince Sultan University, highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts to promote international collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange, and share best practices in support of a more sustainable, trusted, and inclusive digital future.
