The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST), participated in the 15th International Conference of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authorities, held in the Republic of Türkiye.
The conference, titled “The Digital Future: Transformation of Electronic Communications and Postal Sectors,” brought together numerous regulatory bodies, international experts, and policymakers to discuss the impact of digitalization on the telecommunications and postal sectors, as well as strategies for developing and adapting regulatory frameworks to keep pace with technological advancements.
The discussions also focused on security challenges and solutions related to digital communications and postal services.
The conference featured the participation of Mr. Naif Sheshah, Deputy Governor of the Communications, Space & Technology Commission for Strategy and Digitalization, in a panel session titled “Electronic Communications Regulators Session: Digital Infrastructure and Regulatory Framework.”
The session addressed ways to enhance digital infrastructure as a key enabler of digital transformation and explored mechanisms to strengthen the regulatory environment in the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia’s participation reaffirmed its advanced digital standing and its pioneering regulatory experience in shaping the digital future and enabling regional and international communities to adopt advanced digital services.
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) issued a detailed study highlighting the Kingdom as a leading global model in digital transformation and regulatory collaboration.
Moreover, Saudi Arabia ranked second among G20 countries in the 2024 ICT Development Index for the second consecutive year, in addition to high rankings in the ICT Regulatory Tracker and the United Nations’ Telecommunications Infrastructure Index (TII).
