Launch of the National Capacity Building Initiative at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Cooperation Between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, and "Misk"
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, and the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk) launched the National Capacity Building Initiative at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) during the events of the Misk Global Forum, aiming to prepare national talent in the communications, space, and technology sector at the international level, promote the concept of digital diplomacy, and raise the level of the Kingdom's representation at the Union, in line with its global standing and leadership.
The Ministry was represented at the launch of the initiative by His Excellency Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Executive Affairs Mr. Abdulhadi bin Ahmed Al-Mansouri, and the Commission was represented by His Excellency the Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, while the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk) was represented by His Excellency the Foundation's CEO Dr. Badr bin Hamoud Al-Badr.
The initiative seeks to build and develop national capabilities, and enable them to participate in the work of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and prepare them to reach leadership positions, by launching a training program for recent graduates in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union, where the entities will work on building international capabilities and supporting and enabling Saudi youth to participate in international organizations.
The initiative comes as an extension of the Commission's efforts to develop the Kingdom's interests at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and to qualify national talent and participate in making international decisions in the communications, space, and technology sector in order to contribute to the growth of the digital economy in line with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
