Revealing STC's Win of the Platinum Operator Award.. Communications, Space and Technology Commission Issues GameMode Report for the Fourth Quarter of 2022
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission issued the fourth quarter 2022 report for the "GameMode" initiative, which revealed an improvement in electronic gaming performance in the Kingdom by up to 40% compared to the same period last year 2021, and the report also included results of electronic game download speed performance across gaming platforms in the Kingdom compared to users' package speeds, with Mobily topping the list of operators in game download speed percentage via the PlayStation platform at 92%, and STEAM at 91%, while both STC and Mobily achieved the top spot on the XBOX platform at 94%.
The report showed that STC and Mobily shared the top spot in the list of service providers for the best average response time in 8 games, namely Call of Duty, FIFA, Apex Legends, PUBG MOBILE, VALORANT, OVERWATCH 2, Rocket League, and Battlefield, while STC topped the list in 5 games: Fortnite, League of Legends, Dota 2, World of Warcraft, and Rainbow Six Siege, while Mobily topped the list in PUBG, and Zain topped the list in Among Us.
The report also revealed STC's win of the Platinum Operator Award for electronic gaming for the second half of 2022, after achieving the highest score based on the award's criteria, most notably improving electronic gaming experience quality, hosting electronic games locally, in addition to supporting service providers' packages for electronic games, providing its cloud platforms, and supporting the gaming community by holding esports activities and events.
The "GameMode" initiative provides a set of guidelines for improving internet connection quality for electronic games and ways to verify the integrity of the home network and the efficiency of network devices used, and also allows users to contribute to achieving the initiative's goals by registering to obtain a "fixed internet measurement" device that will enable the user to know the performance of the internet service provided to them, including the performance of the most popular applications and electronic games, as the report keeps pace with the latest games in the gaming community, adding their performance indicators in its periodic quarterly editions.
It is noted that the "GameMode" initiative comes as part of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission's work to enhance competitiveness among communications service providers to provide the best experience for gamers, and to raise transparency levels in the market by publishing data and indicator results, and enabling investors and interested parties to view market performance indicators in the Kingdom.
