In Cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission Issues Report on Main and Secondary Roads Measure in the Kingdom
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, issued a report on communications service quality indicators on main and secondary roads in the Kingdom "Roads Measure," which aims to raise transparency levels in the market by publishing data and indicator results, and enabling those interested to view performance indicators of communications networks in the Kingdom. The report reveals coverage indicators for communication and internet services by service providers, and includes call success rate indicators and acceptable internet speed sample rate indicators, in addition to a video streaming platform quality indicator, showing that communication service coverage in the Kingdom on main and secondary roads reached 98%, while internet service coverage on main roads reached 98%, and 97% on secondary roads.
The Commission noted in the "Roads Measure" report that Saudi Telecom Company (stc) and Mobily topped the list of communications service providers in communication service coverage on main roads at 98%, and Mobily and Zain on secondary roads at 97%, and Saudi Telecom Company (stc) also topped the list in internet service coverage on main roads at 94%, and Mobily on secondary roads at 94%.
The Commission also revealed that Saudi Telecom Company (stc) topped the list of communications service providers in call success rate on main roads at 96% and also on secondary roads at 92%, in addition to topping the list in acceptable internet speed sample rate on main roads at 89%, and on secondary roads at 62%, and Saudi Telecom Company (stc) also managed to top service providers in video streaming platform quality at 76%, while Saudi Telecom Company (stc) and Mobily shared the top spot on secondary roads at 77%.
The "Roads Measure" report comes as part of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission's work seeking to enhance competitiveness in the communications and information technology market, and raise transparency levels in the market.
