In Cooperation with Experts and International Organizations, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission Reveals Key Efforts of the Digital Regulations Academy in Enhancing Regulatory Maturity

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission revealed the most prominent efforts of the Digital Regulations Academy in raising and enhancing regulatory maturity and integration between the public and private sectors, through the Academy's first report for 2022, which highlights its work that contributed to training more than 600 trainees from inside and outside the Kingdom from 91 countries, in addition to granting 166 trainees certificates of passing its tests, in cooperation with a group of experts and leading international organizations in the regulatory field.

The report addresses the international community's view of the regulatory environment and digital development in the Kingdom, in addition to the establishment of the Digital Regulations Academy, its tracks, and its most prominent accomplishments, and highlights the Academy's efforts in raising awareness of digital regulation among regulatory specialists in the public and private sectors through holding several in-person training programs in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Regulatory Policy Institute (RPI) during 2022, in addition to a group of educational sessions on regulatory topics, and the Academy seeks in its future direction to expand the scope of its work to bridge the gap in the Kingdom's labor market need for specialized and advanced regulatory knowledge.

The Academy relied on two tracks to implement its programs: the professional track, which is concerned with providing quality training programs in the field of digital regulation, focusing on the ability to deal with regulatory environments, supporting decision-making processes in the field of digital policies and regulations, and conducting the necessary analyses in the field of policy-making, while the diverse programs track is concerned with holding a number of seminars and workshops and discussing recent research in the field of digital regulations in cooperation with international experts and researchers, and focuses on benefiting from best practices and expertise in the field of regulations, and keeping pace with future developments and directions, alongside improving the effectiveness of the regulatory environment in the Kingdom, and increasing awareness to build capabilities and adopt best global practices related to the digital economy.

It is noted that the establishment of the Academy stems from the principle of cross-sector cooperation in digital technology and the pursuit of building a sustainable digital future, with a regulatory framework based on integration and partnership between the public and private sectors, which will contribute to developing human capital in digital regulations, and creating a regulatory environment to keep pace with future developments and directions and improve the effectiveness of the regulatory environment in the Kingdom.
