In Cooperation with ICANN and the Digital Government Authority, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission Holds Training Program on the Domain Name System and Secure Extension Technology

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission held a training program on the Domain Name System (DNS) and the secure extension technology (DNSSEC), in cooperation with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Digital Government Authority (DGA), aiming to contribute to building specialized capabilities and skills in the field of domain names, enhancing security and reliability aspects, and raising its adoption rate in the Kingdom according to the highest international specifications and standards.

The Commission explained that the five-day program addressed the basics of the Domain Name System (DNS) and its associated technologies, and the most prominent features of the secure extension technology for the system (DNSSEC), and its contribution to protecting it, alongside the practical application of activating the system and managing its operations.

The program comes as part of a series of specialized programs held by the Commission, benefiting more than 350 trainees from government and academic entities and companies specialized in providing internet services, reflecting its active role in raising awareness in the field of domain names (DNS), and its pursuit of highlighting the Kingdom's status as one of the first countries in the Middle East to pioneer activating the secure extension technology and making it available to users (DNSSEC), in addition to benefiting from the experiences that enabled it to achieve first place globally in the percentage of traffic for the secure extension technology service (DNSSEC) in the Domain Name System (DNS).
