In Support of National Digital Projects.. CITC Calls for Voting for Saudi Projects Competing for the WSIS Prizes
The Communications and Information Technology Commission called today on the public to participate in voting for the Kingdom's projects competing for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Project Prizes for 2021, in support of these national projects, and to encourage their continued development of the communications and information technology sector and achieving digital transformation targets.
The Commission explained that the Kingdom is competing in the 2021 edition of the prize with 16 national projects, involving 6 government and private entities, in categories that included digital government, digital infrastructure, enabling the investment environment for technology adoption, and enhancing the role of technology in health, education, employment, and other vital fields.
The Commission also noted that the Kingdom has won (9) awards and (15) certificates of excellence in previous editions of the WSIS Project Prizes since its launch in 2012, and these awards are organized by the International Telecommunication Union, aiming to highlight projects that have harnessed technology in the service of digital transformation and achieving the sustainable development goals, in all parts of the world.
