HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Receives the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission
His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, received at the Emirate headquarters in Jeddah, the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi.
During the meeting, His Highness listened to an overview of the communications and information technology sector's work in Makkah Region, where the number of towers supporting 5G technologies in the region exceeded 1,900 towers, and the proportion of populated areas covered by 4G technology in Makkah Al-Mukarramah reached 93%.
HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal was briefed on the Commission's plans aimed at developing the communications and information technology sector, and improving its services, in a way that improves the experience of pilgrims and the region's residents, including upgrading more than 5,000 towers in the region during the current year, while more than 23,900 Wi-Fi access points will be provided by the end of 2020.
For his part, the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission thanked His Highness the Governor of Makkah Region for his customary interest in the communications and information technology sector, and his support for the Commission's plans and programs in the region, in a way that fulfills the hopes and aspirations of its residents.
