CITC Governor Meets with Oracle's Executive Vice President of Technology for Europe, Middle East and Africa

His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission met with Mr. Richard Smith, Executive Vice President of Technology for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Oracle Corporation, and a number of the company's leaders during their visit to the Kingdom. During the meeting, aspects of cooperation between the two parties were discussed, along with an overview of the company's key developments and growth in cloud computing at the Kingdom and regional level.

During the meeting, His Excellency addressed the rapid development of the communications and information technology sector in the Kingdom and its progress in global indicators, in addition to shedding light on the Kingdom's stature that has made it a global leader in communications and information technology at both the individual and institutional levels, as well as its excellence in digital talent and the rate of women's participation in the digital field, which surpasses the rate of European Union countries and G20 countries.

For his part, Mr. Richard Smith thanked the Commission for its support of the cloud computing file, commending the efforts it provides as a digital regulator for the Kingdom and its support for the communications and information technology sector, affirming the increasing growth in the cloud computing market in the Kingdom compared to other countries around the world, adding that the Kingdom is the company's top investment choice in increasing cloud computing capacity to serve customers, and that the company is working to make the Kingdom a hub for serving its customers in the region.

This meeting comes within the framework of the Commission's ongoing pursuit of encouraging investment and stimulating markets in the communications and information technology sector, through discussions with major global companies in the field to transfer their expertise and knowledge, to enhance competitiveness and attract investment in the cloud computing services sector in the Kingdom.
