CITC Governor Extends Congratulations on the Sixth Anniversary of Allegiance

His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, extended sincere congratulations and greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense -may God preserve them both-, on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the allegiance to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his assumption of the reins of power.

His Excellency the Governor said in a statement on this occasion: "We congratulate ourselves all on this dear anniversary and occasion, through which we renew our loyalty and obedience to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and we take this opportunity to take pride in and commend our beloved homeland's impressive developmental journey across various fields during this glorious era; the Kingdom has become a beacon of progress and prosperity among the world's nations, especially as we host during these days the G20 Summit, which brings together the world's most advanced and prosperous nations."

His Excellency the Governor also pointed to the achievements made in the communications and information technology sector during this glorious era; the Kingdom achieved first place in digital competitiveness among G20 countries over the past three years, and jumped 40 places in the digital communications and information technology infrastructure index, in addition to investing more than SAR 55 billion in digital infrastructure, which resulted in a rise in average internet speed, making the Kingdom the world's first country in 5G speeds, and among the top ten countries globally in internet speeds. The communications and information technology sector also managed to triple the number of homes connected to the fiber optic network, after reaching 3.5 million homes. In addition, the sector contributed to enabling more than 94% of government agencies and the private sector to continue performing their business and tasks during the coronavirus pandemic, and finally, the sector supported localization efforts by raising the localization rate of jobs in the sector to 50%."

Dr. Al-Tamimi concluded his statement by praying to the Almighty to protect the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Trustworthy Crown Prince, to grant them success and guidance, and to strengthen our country, protect our leadership, and perpetuate security, safety, and prosperity upon us.
