The Communications and Information Technology Commission held, at its headquarters in Riyadh today, Tuesday, the "Government Business Sector Meeting... Efficiency and Awareness," in partnership with the Expenditure Efficiency Office, attended by His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission and more than (300) representatives of government entities; with the aim of enhancing partnership with the government business sector in a manner that achieves digital transformation targets and elevates the services provided by entities in this sector.

His Excellency the Deputy Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission for Technology and Infrastructure, Eng. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Muzaid, delivered an opening speech, welcoming attendees and shedding light on the importance of this meeting in enhancing cooperation and partnership between government entities and companies providing communications and information technology services, with the aim of raising the quality of services for government entities and increasing their efficiency and effectiveness.

The Expenditure Efficiency Center participated with a speech delivered by His Excellency the Director of Information Technology at the Center, Eng. Abdulaziz Nasr Al-Din, in which he reviewed the Center's role in ensuring the efficiency of government entities' spending on communications and information technology services, and the most prominent criteria on which the Center relies in measuring and evaluating this efficiency.

During the meeting, representatives from Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily), Saudi Telecom Mobile Company (Zain), Etihad Atheeb Telecommunications Company (Atheeb), and Integrated Telecom Company (ITC) presented introductory presentations on the innovative services and solutions available to the government business sector; enhancing competition in the sector and ensuring multiple options are available to government entities and providing them with the latest communications and information technology services.

The meeting also reviewed the most prominent challenges facing the government business sector, including expenditure efficiency, service prices, service quality standards, and raising awareness about the communications and information technology sector in the Kingdom.

It is noted that this meeting comes as part of the Communications and Information Technology Commission's work on and its regulatory role toward competitiveness in the communications and information technology sector and enhancing it, specifically for the government business sector segment, in addition to introducing these services, and raising the efficiency of efforts made by all entities.
