Election of the Kingdom's representative as Vice Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Conference

The member states of the International Telecommunication Union - the United Nations specialized agency for communications and information technology - elected the Kingdom's representative as Vice Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Conference currently held in the city of Dubai.

Eng. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Muzaid, Deputy Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission for Technology and Infrastructure, elected Vice Chairman of the Conference, said that the choice of the Kingdom's representative for the position of Vice Chairman of the Conference comes as a result of the Kingdom's international standing and the trust of member states, and its contribution to developing and supporting the communications and information technology sector, as well as its contribution, along with members of the International Telecommunication Union, to building its present and paving the way for its future excellence.

It is noted that the Kingdom - during the conference - is a candidate for membership of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union for the next four years, retaining its membership in the Council extending since 1965, as well as for membership of the Radio Regulations Board, which consists of (12) elected members chosen from among (193) countries
