Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology visits the Communications and Information Technology Commission
As part of his program visiting Saudi Arabia, His Excellency the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Atef Helmy, today visited the headquarters of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, where he met with His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Eng. Abdullah Al-Darrab, and a number of Commission officials. His Excellency was accompanied by the CEO of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority, the Chairman of the Board of the National Postal Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency, and a high-level delegation. His Excellency the Minister and his accompanying delegation attended a visual presentation on the communications and information technology sector in the Kingdom, in which the Commission reviewed the Kingdom's experience in liberalizing the sector, and the efforts made by the state to spread communications and information technology services in various regions of the Kingdom, including remote areas, and the delegation was also briefed on the tasks carried out by the Commission's Information Security Guidance Center. The Egyptian side presented similar presentations showing the Egyptian government's efforts in this regard, and mutual interests between the two countries were discussed, along with ways to cooperate in this field and methods of benefiting from both countries' experience in the many shared fields related to the communications and information technology sector. The visit concluded with the exchange of commemorative gifts between the two parties.
