Conclusion of the Communications and Information Technology Commission Forum 2017 "Stimulating Investment and Sector Trends"

The proceedings of the Communications and Information Technology Commission Forum, held under the title "Stimulating Investment and Sector Trends," concluded yesterday. The forum was organized by the Communications and Information Technology Commission at its headquarters in Riyadh, with the attendance of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Suwayel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, His Excellency Dr. Ghassan bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiman, Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, His Excellency Dr. Osama bin Mohammed Al-Taf, Acting President of Saudi Post, a number of members of the Transport and Communications Committee of the Shura Council, His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Mashari, Secretary-General of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Mr. Hamad Al-Suwailem, Secretary-General of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Dr. Khaled Biyari, CEO of the Saudi Telecom Group, His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Abu Doma, CEO of Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily), and members of the communications and information technology committees at the chambers of commerce and industry in the Kingdom, as well as businesspeople, academics, and media professionals.

The Commission noted that the forum featured three sessions addressing the future of the communications and information technology sector and the regulatory environment, investment opportunities in the communications and information technology sector, and promoting and protecting competition. These sessions included the presentation of many visions and ideas related to entrepreneurs, investment opportunities in the sector, and a look ahead at the sector's future amid the rapid changes in the communications and information technology industry.
