The Communications, Space and Technology Commission today issued the
5G measurement report in Riyadh for the third quarter of 2022, which aims to raise the level of transparency in the market by publishing data results and indicators, and enabling investors and interested parties to view market performance indicators in the Kingdom. The report reveals average download speeds and 5G coverage in Riyadh, showing that the average internet download speed in Riyadh reached 248 Mbps, and revealing that the overall coverage percentage there reached 93.6%.
The Commission noted in the "Meqyas" report that Saudi Telecom Company (stc) topped the list of telecommunications service providers in average download speeds in Riyadh, recording an average speed of 283.5 Mbps, while Mobily came second with an average speed of 218.13 Mbps, and Zain came third with an average speed of 206.85 Mbps.
The Commission also revealed that Zain topped the list of telecommunications service providers in 5G coverage in Riyadh, reaching 89.9%, while Saudi Telecom Company (stc) came second at 81.7%, followed by Mobily with a coverage percentage of 74.2%.
The "Meqyas Riyadh" report comes within the framework of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission's work to enhance competitiveness in the communications and information technology market, to create a stimulating investment environment that contributes to attracting investors.
