Communications, Space and Technology Commission invites the public to submit their input on the document regulating access to locally hosted internet content

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission invited the public to submit their input on the document regulating access to locally hosted internet content, which aims to create a high-level internet ecosystem to activate the Kingdom's role as a regional and global destination for accessing internet content, and create attractive markets for quality investments to develop local internet content hosting.

The Commission explained that among the most prominent aspects covered by the regulatory document are the provisions and conditions related to passing traffic for locally hosted internet content, in addition to matters related to providing network connectivity services for internet content providers and data center service providers. This document comes as part of the Commission's endeavor to regulate the communications and technology sector, raise the efficiency of services and infrastructure and enhance them, in addition to improving users' experience of internet services and providing them with the highest levels of quality in accordance with international best practices.

The Commission urges interested parties and the public to provide their input and submit their suggestions, stemming from its interest in achieving clarity and transparency and involving all relevant parties, including communications and internet service providers in the Kingdom, data center service providers, in addition to local and international internet content providers, noting that the period for receiving input runs until May 30, 2023, through the Commission's website:
