Communications, Space and Technology Commission holds a training course on the basics of space exploration within the Madar training program
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission held a training course titled "Basics of Space Exploration" within the Madar training program, with the aim of giving trainees a general and comprehensive concept about the basics of space exploration, spacecraft systems, types of flights and rockets, and human activities in space, in addition to enabling them to gain a broad knowledge base for developing future concepts for current and future space applications.
The course, held virtually over two days and presented by spacecraft systems engineer Robert J. Sincer, targeted those wishing to expand their knowledge of space exploration, both technical and non-technical individuals interested in how satellites work, orbital flights, and the environment surrounding space flights, in order to inspire youth in space sciences and develop capabilities, empower talent, and prepare national cadres to shape the future of the space sector in the Kingdom.
The Commission explained that the course was designed for those interested, to enrich them with specialized expertise in this field, covering six main themes addressing an introduction to space flights, orbital mechanics, the environment surrounding space flight, spacecraft systems, launch systems and their surrounding environment, and manned space flights. This comes as part of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission's endeavors to enhance the Kingdom's position and global leadership in the field of space and its sciences through a number of programs and initiatives aimed at qualifying and developing national capabilities to contribute to shaping a promising future for the space sector in the Kingdom.
