Communications, Space and Technology Commission announces the success of its operational plan for the 1444H Umrah season
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission announced the success of its operational plan for the Umrah season during the month of Ramadan 1444H, which confirms the success of efforts and their integration with various government and private sectors concerned with the season.
The Commission revealed communications network indicators in Makkah and Madinah during the last ten days of Ramadan for the period (20-27 Ramadan), which show that data consumption reached (56.7) thousand terabytes, equivalent to watching more than (23) million hours of HD (1080p) video clips. The indicators also included the daily per-capita data consumption rate reaching (810) megabytes, exceeding the global per-capita consumption rate of (270) megabytes by more than 3 times, noting that the most data-consuming applications are: (TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram).
The indicators showed that the daily average download speeds for all days in Makkah exceeded (181.8 Mbps), while the daily average upload speeds for all days in Makkah reached (24.9 Mbps), while the daily average download speeds for all days in Madinah exceeded (195.3 Mbps), and the daily average upload speeds for all days in Madinah also exceeded (25.9 Mbps).
The indicators tracked the number of voice calls in Makkah and Madinah, where local calls reached 195 million, while the number of international calls reached 30 million calls with a success rate exceeding 99%, with the top three countries in outgoing calls being (Egypt, Sudan, and Yemen), while the top countries in incoming calls were (Nigeria, Sudan, and Egypt).
