Communications, Space and Technology Commission announces increase in the number of global cloud computing service providers in the Kingdom to six following Google Cloud's joining

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission announced an increase in the number of global cloud computing service providers registered with it to six providers, after Google Cloud obtained registration in Category "C" to join SAP, Oracle, Alibaba Cloud, Cloud4C, and Huawei Cloud, raising the number of cloud computing service providers registered with the Commission to 30 providers, 17 of whom are in Category "C."

The Commission explained that the increase in global service providers will enhance the adoption of cloud computing services, and raise the level of cloud services in the Kingdom, in addition to developing technical capabilities in the field of cloud computing, and increasing the number of experts in this sector, as it will also contribute to speeding up companies' access to the market, and create new job opportunities that stimulate the digital economy and encourage innovation for entrepreneurs.

The Commission affirmed that the increase in the number of global service providers highlights the efficiency of the regulatory environment in the Kingdom, and enhances its position as an attractive and stimulating country for investment, which will reflect on making the Kingdom a regional and global digital technology hub, and contribute to digital transformation plans to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

It is noted that the growth of cloud computing services in the Kingdom represents one of the Commission's regulatory endeavors aimed at providing a suitable environment to attract local and international investors, and localizing cloud computing services, in addition to stimulating reliance on their solutions and technologies in the Kingdom to improve the level of performance, productivity, flexibility, and quality of services for the general public of beneficiaries in the Kingdom.
