"Communications Commission" signs 3 memoranda of understanding with major global telecom technology providers

The Communications and Information Technology Commission signed 3 memoranda of understanding in the fields of communications and information technology with major global telecom technology providers, namely: Huawei, Ericsson, and Nokia, with the aim of supporting and enhancing the Commission's plans and targets in enabling the Kingdom's digital transformation, and localizing technologies according to the latest global practices.

The Commission was represented in signing the memoranda by His Excellency the Vice Governor for Institutional Support Sector, Mr. Ahmed Al-Jarboa, while the three companies were represented by their chief executive officers (Mr. He Tao of Huawei, Mr. Mathias Johansen of Ericsson, and Mr. Khaled Hussein, Manager of Nokia's branch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi.

The Commission explained that the memoranda of understanding covered fields of cooperation in global communications standards organizations, holding specialized training programs for Commission staff, in addition to participating in international workshops, and organizing seminars and specialized educational and training programs in modern technologies, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and others.
